The client selected a theme called MyCity (demo: http://city1.wpmix.net/) for the base of the new design. By implementing the Waterfront BIA branded colours and icons, we were able to make the new site match existing artwork and billboards currently on display in the community.
While the main focus of the site was to showcase local businesses, it's also geared towards visitors of the waterfront area. If a user allows the site access to their current location it can calculate distances to stores using geocodes.
The news section is a collection of community news items and calendar events link directly to other group's websites.
